Job description
The Borough of Matamoras is looking to hire part-time DPW employees immediately. Salary range of $20,000 to $40,000 will be commensurate with experience. A valid driver’s license is required as well as knowledge and ability to operate Borough-owned vehicles and equipment, such as dump trucks, backhoes, snowplows, salt spreaders, power tools, chain saws, air compressors, etc. The ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and the ability to work independently is required. The candidate will be required to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in all types of weather conditions. Safety procedures and practices are required, as well as wearing safety equipment. A good working relationship with coworkers and the general public is a necessity. The candidate must be able to be called out for emergencies such as snowfall, floods, downed trees, etc. and must be knowledgeable in a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks. Candidate may be required to fill out reports from time to time and also maintain a stock of inventory.
Preferred candidates will possess a CDL-B, have prior snow plow experience and backhoe experience.
Candidates must be able to work without supervision.
The minimum education requirement is at least a high school diploma or GED.

Pay: $20,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 16 – 30 per week

- On call
- Weekends as needed
